The XFX Radeon hD 7970 is a Better Card than GTX 760, There is a New Version of 7970 Available "Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7970 DDR5 Vapor-X 6 GB OC Edition 6 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card" It is THE Best Card and requires a Minimum 850 watt Power Supply Unit
Link to the Card

Just a quick question for my own benefit - Wouldn't he be better off buying two 7970's for the same price? 3gb + 3gb = 6gb, but when he crossfires, he gets double the GPU power? Or am I way off base?

Here at my place, Each 7970 Cost's Around 385€, If i get 2 of'em, it'll cost me around 700+€, instead of that, i'd rather go for ATI HD 7970 DDR5 Vapor-X 6 GB OC Edition which will cost around 550€(Here at my place, No Idea about Other Places) & That is Just Enough For Extreme Gaming and futer Proof tooo!! :)

If You Get a Sapphire ATI 7970 3 GB At Your Price Range, Go For it, Don't Have any Regrets!
There is another Card Available around 280. "Sapphire AMD/ATI VAPOR-X HD 7950 OC with Boost 3 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card" That Wud Be Just Fine too!! :)
If you want Nvdia GPU, Go For NVidia GTX660Ti mate!

+1. Good to know.

I would just get a normal HD 7970, collect the three free games and get another one later on (you can crossfire an R9-280X with an HD 7970 if there are no HD 7970s left). I'm running twin HD 7970s and there is literally no game that I cannot max out and still get perfect frame rates. If you're concerned about budget, usually changing from and i5 to an FX-6300 frees up enough money to upgrade the card and increase your gaming potential greatly. However, if your primary use for your computer isn't gaming, then the i5 is the better choice because it is the faster CPU.
