When on-line, after being on several websites, my laptop stops responding to keystrokes and I have to close the browser and re-open. How can I correct this?

Solution
Do you have proper antivirus/anti malware installed?

If not - download and install Microsoft Security essentials - it will give you decent protection for both.
What laptop? What are your laptop specs? What browser? What OS? What kind of websites, video, audio, plain text?

Depending on the laptop - opening 7 tabs with videos can be quite hard on the CPU and RAM which can cause your laptop to stop responding.

For example - with my system listed below - I can open about 4-5 tabs with videos, about 10 tabs with multiple pages of pictures and my system will start getting a little sluggish (only in the browser).

Dell 3550 Vostro Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OS, Both Internet explorer and Chrome, hardly ever video or audio, usually plain text and pictures. Even stops working when just opening several emails to read. It stops working with even just 1 tab open.

It just started doing this recently.
