Good time to buy a 780 Classified?

Want an EVGA 780 Classified, Scan has them for £463 now since the R9 290x came out. My question is, will there be a further price drop when the 780ti comes out or am I safe just ordering one now?

Am aiming to max out BF4 on a single monitor at 1080p. Rest of spec below:

Windows 7 Ultimate
MSI FXA990-GD80 Mobo
AMD FX8350 4.4GHz
16GB Corsair 1600MHz RAM
Samsung 840 SSD
Goldfield 700w PSU
Zalman Z9 Case

If you wait the price will keep dropping. If you wait you will never buy a new video card. You can keep waiting and waiting until the next best thing comes out. Meanwhile, you are waiting and waiting...

Get the picture? Yes, the price will drop. Will the price drop justify waiting 3 more months, or 6 more months?

its a very good time since all the prices just went down because of the gtx 780ti if you want you could wait till Christmas and the prices may go even lower, or you could wait for the fabled gtx 790 if you want to get that. You will be able to max out BF4 no problem but as we all know its having a few problems. P.S welcome to PC gaming

It's never a good time to buy computer hardware. Things will always get cheaper and new parts will always come out.

It's all about whether it's the right time for YOU, or whether you want to wait until a price drop hits. Personally, you can keep on waiting for price drops, but then when do you stop waiting? For instance, when I got my 7950 on release week, it cost over £300, now you can get them for £170. It's really about whether the card is good value for you right now, you've kinda just gotta suck it up if a price drop comes a week after you got it!

Thanks yeah I know that if you wait you'll never get anywhere so I'm trying to figure out if the recent price drop was because of the R9 290x release (like scan.co.uk told me) or is anticipating the 780ti release in a few days?

I've ruled out the 780ti as I'd want an EVGA version which might not be available yet, might be too expensive and might be overkill for me. So do I wait a few days amd check prices again or do I order one now?

I'm not talking months here I'm talking days.

Chances are no, if they just had a price decrease. Why would they just keep lowering prices to benefit you?

And its actually just gone down again today to £449. So as you can see the price does in fact keep dropping.
