Can core 2 quad q9705 run smoothly next-gen high graphics games?

I want to buy a good processor on P5 KPL-AM/PS motherboard.Which is best for gaming on this motherboard.I just want to play next gen graphic games.Now i have Intel(R) Pentium E5400 & which is best for mine motherboard for playing best of next gen games i.e battlefield 4,mass effect 4,crysis 3,prototype 3,splinter cell black list etc.

I agree...AMD is really good for GPU's but im not a fan of their CPU's :/

I say get a 3570k, 4670k, if you dont wanna OC, 3470 or 4570

Intel's Core 2 Quad CPUs still provide pretty decent performance; which is the main reason why I am still using my Q9450. However, more recent Intel generation CPUs are more powerful at the same clockspeed.

Unless you are getting the Q9705 for a very cheap price, I think you are simply better off saving up money for an Intel Ivy Bridge or Haswell CPU whichever is cheaper.
 
Kinda but that depends on the title and how you set up the rig. Been experimenting on and old 05 model rig and surprisingly a lot of games work rather well despite being a pentium m 770 @2.5ghz on a msi speedster 915 with a 4650. Personally if you want a lasting rig that doesn't need a lot of tweaking that is fast in almost anything current a new i5 based system will do. As for being economical a 45nmn core 2 quad will do but they do need a Good board.
