So i just got the new Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X, put it into my system, and boot it up (using the graphics card). To my surprise and dissapointment, my 24 inch screen was only a 20 inch screen now??. I installed the drivers (from CD) the restarted, no difference. I then decided to download the latest drivers from AMD. Still no change. I really wanted to like AMD, sadly it has let me down once again. Is there any way to fix this.
I have tried playing around with the resolution in both windows and catalyst control center, i can't get it to display 1080p at 24 inches.

PS im using the Asus VG248QE monitor

Could you try the Over/under scan option from Catalyst controle center.

And just to say. The grass is not greener on the other side. Well sort of, if we count in Nvidias logo color.

Nvidia is DREADFUL at scaling/over-underscan. Have both HD 7970 and GTX 780 and i like Catalyst controle center by far more.

what connection are you using? Displayport or Dual link DVI would be the best, hdmi not so much... can't get all the herz with hdmi, and only hdmi has the over/underscan option available afaik...

What do you see in CCC in Desktop management -> Desktop properties. No 1920x1080 listed?
