How do I uninstall remote desktop services?

I want to uninstall Remote Desktop from Windows 7. It is not listed in the "windows features" section of the Programs control panel, so I googled it for a bit -- I found a few articles that describe the procedure as to remove KB925876 from my past updates in the Windows Update control panel. Well this made perfect sense to me until I found I didn't have any such update and realized this solution must have been pre-Service Pack1.

I have a legacy display adapter that has a known issue involving a bluescreen error, which was a problem in both windows XP as well as server 2003.. In both cases, the strange-but-true workaround was to uninstall Terminal Services which fixed the issue with this card in both operating systems. Now, since I'm getting the EXACT same BSOD under Win7, I think it is very likely that removing Remote Desktop services from the OS will solve the problem (and I really don't need RDS on this machine anyway)

I just can't figure out how to do it! Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

drtweak: Yes I am aware that the card is not technically supported, but surely we all know that doesn't necessarily mean it won't work. In this case it means the legacy device was no longer supported when the OS was released. However, it IS working fine using the 2000 driver, EXCEPT for this one problem -- and normally I would chalk this up to an incompatibility between the driver and the OS, but since the issue is identical to a known issue that I experienced before under an OS that WAS supported, and that had a known workaround, it seems logical that there is a similar workaround in this case as well.. if I can figure out how to do it. It is evidently a conflict between RDS and Direct3D.

himnextdoor: Thanks for the suggestions, Yes, both of those services are already disabled, but they are still loaded with the OS. I know it was possible to remove RDS by removing the update prior to the release of SP1, which leads me to believe that it is not critical to the operating system and that there is a way to remove it.

Of course, it may not be worth the trouble -- this is an old computer that is not my main computer anyway -- however I do have a use for it and I am finding that it actually runs better under Win7 than it did under XP.. and since everything is working except this one problem, I'd love to be able to squash it and keep this box running.

Thanks for all the resonses.

I disabled 'remote access connection manager' and 'remote desktop configuration' too.

I was thinking that the blue screen problem might have something to do with the modem and 'interrupts'. Perhaps turning off these services may help.

I just deleted 'remotepg.dll' and I'm going to restart now to see if it comes back or causes a problem.

So, the dlls are gone and I have one less running process after startup. I'm at a record low of 28 now.

And no errors.

I suppose I could now track the dlls down in the registry and stop Windows from even attempting to load them.
