Hello guys. I'm trying to build a rig that will be used mainly for gaming. With not that great budget and killing prices in my country, I managed to set a list of components and I'd like your opinion. I'll use Win 7 OS and I use 19" wide screen. I don't plan to OC anything, until warranty expires (i.e.2 years). anyway, here I go: Intel core i5-4430 Haswell
ASUS B85-PLUS
Kingston 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 Hyper X Blue 1600MHz
HDD 500GB Toshiba Sata III
Sapphire R9 270X Dual X 2GB
DVD RW Asus Sata
Chieftec GPS-600A8 Full Smart
Raidmax Super Viper Black.

Other option is same, but with AMD FX 8350(8X4,0Ghz)
Asus M5A97 R2.0.

Will any of these rigs be ok for gaming for next year or so? I don't need ultra high settings and my native resolution is 1440X900.

thanks in advance

thank you both for your reply. just quick question i forgot to ask while posting first time: since i won't OC my CPU, will original cooler suffice? or i need to buy additional cooler?

once again, thanks for your help

If OP can find the 7870/7870ghz/7870xt cheaper than the 270x,he should go for that since they're almost the same. The XT would be slightly better. The 270x will support mantle, not sure about the 7870
Other than that, the build is fantastic

SAPPHIRE HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB GDDR5 is about 20 euros more than one i listed, at the cheapest seller here where i live. is it worth it? since i'v already over my planned budget :)

what does mantle means? i'm not english native speaker so...

Nope,not worth it.The XT,possibly.The Ghz,no.
It's something that AMD is introducing later this year.Basically, games developed by game engines optimised for Mantle will see performance boosts. The first game i can think that will get this is BF4. Its rather technical and i don't know the full picture,to be honest.
The 270x is a great card,Go with that

AMD is providing the free games now with the 7000 series cards. But just check with your retailer if they are under AMD's list of retailers.
AMD has not announced anything for the new series of cards yet.

i don't think my retailer is on the list of amd retailers. i think he has some supplier from other, cheaper, countries and then he imports them to my country, not sure does he pays all fees he needs to :)

well, usually it's ok. i haven't had problems with surges (not that i have noticed) nor had problems with some other electrical equipment during the years, so i think it's at least decent. guess it will be ok to buy surge protector i have linked above? just to be sure?

and thank you :)

Hmm,from what you've mentioned,it seems like you have a pretty decent electricity grid.I would lay off the surge protector first. But that's just me.I'm from Singapore and we have a rock solid power grid here.So surge protectors become unneccessary.
Just build your rig and use it as you would.Look into this when you start noticing problems with your power.

You're welcome.
