Is it better to use automatic or to choose your own files to backup

I am new to using External Backups and I was wondering if it is better to choose my own files or to let WD automatically configure my Backups. From David V.

Just let it do it automatically. Choosing them yourself is if you only want certain files on a certain backup drive. Doing it automatically just copies all your files to your backup drive. :)
