it is quite good but dvd drive is not included, you should also add, and you can increase your ram to 10gb or 12gb, 8gb is also very good but this is your choose.
With these hardware you can play any game with ultra settings.

Well.. let me suggest you something a bit different.

Since you would be recording while playing games and might stream them live, hence having a CPU with more cores would benefit the gaming.

Since games usually use 4 cores for gaming, hence with the i5, if you are also recording at the same time hence you would affect the performance of the game a bit, but with this CPU, the 8350 which has 8 cores. The games would use like 4-6 cores and the rest cores would be used for recording and hence it would not affect gaming performance.

+ 8350, 8 Cores @ 4.0 Ghz with great Multitasking and Overclocking potential.
+ 7970 is a much better GPU than the R9-270X and can play games just like a beast. And it overclocked then it can perform even better.
+ 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 620W are ideal for this set up.
+ I chose the NZXT Tempest 210 over the H2 because the H2 has bad reviews on the Internet from respected site like Anandtech.
+ A standard Asus DVD Drive.

Hence I recommend this build over the i5 build that you selected, just because for recording simultaneously more cores would be an advantage.

should start a new thread but high end motherboard just add features so if it has features you wouldn't use then you saved $10.

I did make a new thread. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1869154/made-huge-mistake.html#11865972

Anyway back to this.

Seriously dude... The MSI G65 board has some spectacular features. I think you put the money in right place. I don't see any major benefits going from MSI GD 65 Gaming to Asus Maximum VI Hero. On the other hand the MSI GD 65 has a killer Sound card and looks beautiful.

That MSI board is my first love but unfortunately I do not have the money to get that, but that seriously is an awesome board. You invested your money in the right place if you ask me.

Thanks :)

280x is really good. The phantom 410 is good to. If you have enough money. Go for that :)

Pick as solution if it helped.

Isn't the 280x a rebranded HD 7970?

7970 and 290X are basically the same thing. You can even crossfire a 7970 with a 280x. So, with the price the 7970 is currently coming at like 50 dollars less than 280x, hence 7970 is a good deal right now.

You can also overclock the 7970 to get even better performance. So, I would say get the 7970. Though there is nothing wrong with the 280x, but currently the 7970 is a better deal right now.

As for the case, yeah go for the one that you like more. The 410 is definitely a better case. Go for it.
