I have Windows 7 Home Premium with an AMD Radeon 6800 graphics card. The card has:

2 DVI sockets
1 HDMI socket
2 Mini Displayport sockets

Currently, I am successfully running three monitors. They are all different brands and resolutions. Two are connected to the DVI sockets. The third is connected to one of the Mini Displayport sockets (the inboard one closest to the DVI sockets). Upon booting, Windows simply found all three monitors and everything worked immediately with no special steps required.

So, the setup described above leaves unused:

1 Mini Displayport socket & 1 HDMI socket.

My question is:

Can I buy two more monitors and simply plug them into the currently unused sockets (using suitable cables, of course) and expect them to work without Eyfinity or an MST hub or splitter? That's to say, will they 'just work' as did the first three?

Any monitors above 2 need to be on displayport so you can only do 4 monitors.

Thanks k1114, I wish all the sources I looked at (there were many) had put things so clearly. Even AMD is not clear about this.
