Graphics card compatibility Pease Help

Hello,
i have a asrock 775 dual vsta m/b and currently a nvidia gts250 1gb graphics card, 550w psu.
id like to try an ati/radeon card,how do i know if my m/b will support it? can i use ati cards,or do i have to stick with nvidia?
please help,,,,,,,,,,,,,also it says i have a via pt880 pro chipset???

Your mother board supports the AMD card

It will run your card fine

Just the bandwidth the pcie offers on your board is less as compared to modern boards.

All motherboards to my knowledge will accept amd or nvidia cards but that old of a board you should consider a upgrade soon to be on the fast track with the newer cards and pc coponents.

Just my 2 cents.

yep will do,,right now i have an intel core2duo 6700 ,,got it used,, in about 3 months ill do a complete setup changeover, its just that i always used nvidia cards and now in gaming, it ocasionally freezes for like 1-2 seconds,so i wanted to try an amd card, so its possible yes?
