Okay, so my old MOBO seemed to have fried because I plugged in a fan connector into the MOBO while it was on and smoke arose from the connector and the fan stopped working. I turned off the mobo and was freaked. I turned it on again without the fan connected into the MOBO and it wouldn't post. I then took my MOBO out and bought an ASUS crosshair V formula Z today, and installed everything all over again. I turned on my computer once more and nothing is displaying. I am not sure if I screwed up my HDD when I fried my old MOBO. I tried a different sata data cable and still nothing is showing up. I am positive everything is connected on this MOBO. I don't see my HDD light flickering either on my case.

Any other suggestions of what I can do or why the hell my mobo isn't posting?

Solution
you could have fried your CPU, are you using the same CPU?
you could have also fried your RAM or GPU.
you should see if you could borrow or cannibalize compatible components from other computers and test with them. whatever combination that works will indicate which component has been fried!

good luck.

BTW... do you have any other info for the forum, can you access the BIOS?, do you get any beeps? are there other strange sounds from your computer?
