ok so my mobo is an asrock z75 pro 3. It has:
- 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (PCIE2: x16 mode)
- 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE3: x4 mode)
In which should I insert my gpu in?

ok thanks, another question. my bios menu is smaller than my screen, it wasn't before. Also the splash screen itself has changed.
When I turned on the pc it used to show 555 x fast and tell me what function keys to press, but not its all black with a green asrock logo with the fuction keys. Any idea what may have happened.

You might find the option to change the splash screen in the BIOS. As for the display size of the BIOS, normally the BIOS screen is at a lower resolution than your monitor, and it normally stretches to fill the screen. For some reason the BIOS isn't stretching the image. I don't think there is much you can do about that. But it should not be a problem.

ok, when I bought the pc the gpu was I the PCI3 Express 2.0 x16 Slot. So your saying I should move it to the
PCI2 Express 3.0 x16 Slot. why is that?

Looks good. The 2500k is a great CPU. With a better graphics card you would be able to play high end games at good settings.

Its worth getting a good CPU cooler and overclocking. My 2500k runs at 4.6Ghz no problem, and at that speed it competes with new CPUs at stock clocks.
