Login to a shared folder fails on a specific PC

Hi there,

I have shared a folder on a PC (Windows 7) and made a user account for accessing it. Typing \\machine_name\folder_name in the explorer leads to a login box. Here I type the username and password for the account i created. This works fine on all but one PC. I'm pretty sure they are in the same domain and that the PC can find the shared folder (after all, it does show the login box). Is there anything that I could have done wrong, to make the login only work from some computers, and not all?

Cheers!

welcome to the fun baffling world of Windows networking. I have run a Windows network in my home or business since coax network and Windows 3.1 to 95 - 98 - ME - Vista -7 -8 and there has probably always been 1 PC that could never connect. lol.

How many PC's do you have trying to connect to it?

So far I have tried connecting 4 external PC's and 3 of them works just fine. Only one does not work. All PC's are running Windows 7 Pro , though I cannot guarantee that it is the exact same version.

Edit: It might be worth noting that there initially was a login attempt with an incorrect password on that machine. However, that has been "forgot" and the following attempts were with the correct login information. The guy who owns the PC also claims that he has had trouble with other network stuff earlier.
