Hey guys, I need your help. I've been playing CoD Ghosts today and having trouble with my PC shutting down in-game. i've been keeping an eye on my temps + logging them and my CPU doesn't go above 50 Celsius and my GPU doesn't go above 65 Celsius... But it does look like overheating, the screen goes black for a moment (keyboard leds stay on) and then the PC reboots itself... any help?

Some additional information:
Specs:
Asus Sabertooth Z77
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
16 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
ATX 750W PSU

few weeks ago i installed a new CPU cooler because the temps of my CPU got pretty high during Prime95 stress test. Got the Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212. As far as i'm concerned i installed it properly and the temps are clearly a lot lower than they used to be.

Also all the fans are running fine, 120mm rear exhaust, 140mm top exhaust, 120mm front intake and a 120mm fan on the CPU cooler. Some extra fans are being shipped to improve my air flow a bit but that will take a few more weeks. Though i doubt the airflow is the problem because the temps are supposingly fine?

Some more additional information:
Recently updated bios, few weeks ago went all perfectly fine and had no problem whatsoever.
going to run all the stress tests i can think of right now:
- Furmark - GPU hit 70 celsius
- Prime 95 - CPU did hit 60 Celsius but mainly stayed around 55 C max.

Will post results here.

I used Coretemp and the temps were between 55-60C full load. i'll check your link and tell you the temps i measure with it.

Well i just played the game in windowed mode so i could keep an eye on my temps and it seems that the GPU is running pretty high(considered it's at 1600x900 res now instead of 1920x1080) it hit max 69C.. guess it's just a problem with the game, will lower and play around with some of the in-game settings.

the thing that's really weird though is that when i check my EVGA Precision X log after the Reboot/Shutdown the log ends usually when the GPU is around 65, which isn't near the dangerzone at all?

You will have to go into the settings of your PC and find where that is. Do you have core temp on there running always? If that is the case then go through the settings on core temp and adjust the temp.
