Hello,

I'm building a gaming PC, I've settled on every part except for the power supply, so I came here looking for suggestions/guidance.

Here's my build:

- CPU: Intel i7-4820k
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 770 (2Gb)
- Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth X79
- HD: WD 2TB
- RAM: 16GB

I'll be using this PC for gaming and running a low resources virtual machine, probably a 4GB memory Linux box(both at the same time)
P.S: No overclocking involved.

Which power supply suits me?

Update: My budget is around $1600.

Thanks

Nope, I haven't.

P.S: The price of the 4820K is ~$35 cheaper than 4770K; Am I missing something?

Solution

Selecting between the two is more based on uses, for gaming going with the LGA2011 platform is waste of money compared to LGA1150. For editing / rendering or professional builds the 2011 kicks in with more PCIe lanes which can handle super fast PCIe based storage solution and so on.

I see. So going for the 4770K would free up about $150, that I could spend on a better GPU, which GPU would you recommend?
