Hi all,

I've recently built my first PC and have been popping back here with the odd question as they occur to me!

As I've had to wait for my new SSD, I set up the system on my old OCZ Vertex 2 64GB SSD as the boot drive and just installed Football Manager for now, Skyrim will go on there but it's very close to full at that!

Basically i've gone for the 840 Pro as it's reviewed as being one of the best and Toms Hardware suggested it was "Face meltingly fast!". So the question is, do I need to do a new install onto the new SSD and how do i best set up the two, as I'd like to keep the 64GB drive in there, although honestly I may not use it! I have a 1TB mechanical drive too which has all my music and junk on it, but as yet I've not connected that up either...

What's the best way to utilise these drives?!

Thanks

Good answer! I know someone who'd appreciate that too! You may not recall but you actually advised me on the initial thought's I'd had on my new build, so thank you for that as well as this!

I've heard a few bits, someone suggested to me to cache some of the SSD to help boot times? And at some point I do plan to connect the mechanical hard drive again, for now it's in there but unconnected, should I use a particular configuration when adding that?

Anyone recommend a good program for cloning? Save me the massive amount of updates!!

I'm not yet, it doesn't arrive until tomorrow! But that's good to know thank you. To be fair it boots in 34 seconds, I don't really need it to be any quicker than that, but it's nice to be able to brag lol!

I'll probably just do a complete re-install, it's just that I got Windows 7 when it was brand new, I pre-ordered in fact, so I've got the disc with the release version on, so it's hours of updating to then use it again!

I'll dig one out, I know enough people with PC's to know someone must have a newer version!

Thanks...again!
