Why switch to Win8 ?

Solution
It's not as bad as the opinions of those above make it seem.

But regardless of whether it's good or bad, if you already have 7 then it makes little sense to upgrade at this time unless you really want to. The changes arent really that astounding (if I never used the start menu i'd probably forget I'd switched). Unless there is a program you need 8 specifically for (which I am not aware of any) then there really isnt too much of a point for an upgrade.

My advice is generally:
If you are buying a brand new OS to install (like for home-built computer) or are upgrading from something older than 7, then go with Windows 8.

If you already have 7, then stick with it, upgrading is a bit of a waste of funds and you don't really gain anything...

Personally I saw no improvements, only disappointments. Metro interface sucks, new start button just takes you back to Metro interface. Virtual XP mode does not work anymore. Eventually Microsoft will force you to use Windows 8 when they stop supporting windows 7.

there is no advantage. Windows 8 is the worst OS I have seen from MS in a long time. I can even get along with Vista these days, but this Windows 8, forget it. It's not just the horrible UI either and it's not me just not wanting to change. I have gone through the ages of the Win 2000 to the XP interface, then to the Vista and 7 interface, I am not opposed to change, I just don't prefer to change to something so ugly and user un-friendly.
Stick with 7.
