Hello,

About a year ago I had build a new PC which is still using 8gb (2*4gb) of DDR3 Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz Ram. This one to be exact :

KHX1600C9D3B1RK2/8GX

Now I'd like to upgrade to 16gb. However, that kit turned out to be Limited Edition (red heatshield) and is not available anymore. After doing some research I found this kit :

KHX16C9B1RK2/8X

Does anybody know if it's possible to pair these kits?

I've found this kit as well. This kit has a very similar productnr., but it's blue.... This would probably look awfull in my case.

KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX

Thanks in advance,

Max

For that reason, it would be best to keep the each kit/set together when plugged into your motherboard for the best performance. The exact configuration depends on which motherboard you have but usually the matching color slots indicate which go together. For instance, the modules from part...

For instance, the modules from part number KHX1600C9D3B1RK2/8GX should go in slots DDR3-1 and DDR3-3 while the modules from part number KHX16C9B1RK2/8X go in slots DDR3-2 and DDR3-4. The exact information is usually available in you motherboard's manual.
