i7 3770k asus Z77 motherboard coolermaster 212 hitting 60c idle

I wanted to overclock my cpu to 4.0 ghz, so I got prime95 and ran a test and cpu temps are 80 - 85C within 20 seconds. I have an intel i7 3770k, asus sabertooth z77 mobo, coolermaster 212

It is around 50-60C idle. The cpu voltage is 1.28.

I have no idea why the cpu temp is so high. All the fans appear to be working

Something is drastically out of whack with your system. There is just no way that idle temp should be that high. How are you measuring your temp?

You may need to remove your CPU cooler, clean off the thermal paste, re-apply new paste and re-seat the cooler.
