I have the ASUS motherboard M2N68AMPLUS, which I believe has only 3 GB SATA interfaces. I need to speed up my disc access and am wondering if you can get a PCIE card that has 6 GB SATA performance so I can get a 10K or 15K RPM HD that will speed disk access up.

I really don't want to swap motherboards at this point.

Any ideas on speeding up disc access with this mother board?

Solution

1) use the AMD RAMDisk if you have the win7 or win8/8.1. http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/radeon-memory/Pages/ramdisk-overview.aspx
2) Get the similar ASUS Model U3S6 USB 3.0 & SATA 6Gb/s Add-on card http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/U3S6/ if you can find one.
