Is an average of idle 53 degrees for my 4.0ghz core i5 cool?

Is this temperature cool ? Only thing i do is sometimes play games like mafia2 , crysis , metro , tomb raider ,etc. I barely put my cpu at full load , except when maybe playing or stretch testing my cpu.

Cpu cooler is - schyte katana cooler and case is cm storm styrker with 1 200m top fan , 1 rear fan , 2 bottom fans and 2 side fans.

Oc or not should idle about the same (~30 depending on room temp) unless you disabled speedstep and c1e in which case being at full speed while doing nothing does result in 40-50C depending on room temp. If it's not disabled, that's not just a bit high, 20c is a lot, and would indicate a heatsink mounting issue. I don't know which i5 you have but they all throttle similarly in the 80-90 range. 65-70 is normal load temp on the stock cooler at stock speed or oc load temps on a cheap decent cooler. Throttle for your fx cpu but i5, no. Load temps are more important than idle. What are your load temps?

It's higher for Intel than AMD, for AMD it's 62*C. (Cool n Quiet). And ~80 for Intel (SpeedStep)

Using 20.0 multiplier and 200bclk = 4.01ghz , with 1.32V , at full load average temp is 78 and max is 85.

Im using Scythe KATANA 3 cpu cooler. Does upgrading to Coolermaster V6GT improves my temperatures ?
