Okay. If you're not OCing, you're overspending on the CPU cooler. Get Coolermaster hyper 212 Which is like $40 cheaper. Cut down on the motherboard as well like $30-40 less. Then you can grab Intel CPU rather than AMD. Also, you don't need 16 GB of RAM for gaming. Change the RAM to 2x4 8 GB and save $100. You could find 1TB hard drive for cheaper price. Use the cut down saved money and get a better GPU as well.

any recommendations for motherboards, i personally prefer ASRock, but im willing to look into others. For CPU`s im not very familiar with Intel so recommendations for that would also be nice. Thank you for the input guys!

Mine and HeyyScott builds are similar. HeyyScott went for a NVIDIA 770 which was more expensive and his ram is a bit expensive too. My rig has a SSD. He also chose a better(cheaper) Mobo than mine.

You can swap things from his and my build.

No. I do have that Antec Case thos and 5 blue led fans so it all glows blue. lol

I have I7-3770k (I do rendering and pics)
16gb Ram Crusial Sport (More ram for rendering and pics)
AMD 7950 Twin FRZ 3
1.5 GB HDD
1000W 12 rail 80 plus bronze antec PSU (Got it Free)

Mind you that I built this over 8 months ago when 4th generation and new video cards weren't out yet.

I'm buying a SSD on Cyber Monday from new egg for ($50)

That was OP's choice of RAM >.<
Yeah he should cut down to like Patriot Viper/Corsair Vengeance which is around $60 I believe?

It's up to you OP. Spend extra $100 to see barely any difference in gaming performance or stick with i5 which is perfect enough for gaming. i7 is more of intense editing and doesn't really benefit gaming. Plus it won't even be much of future proofing with i7 because something even better will come out.

If you are not working with pics, videos, models, or intense multi-tasking, there is no use on getting an I7.

I was looking at some New cases and i feel like i found a better solution, found out i didn't have room for a front usb panel on my apevia case, went looking around and found this one. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-case-z9plus . it looks amazing!

Come to find out its usb 3.0s and not 2.0s. I don't know if this poses a problem but i feel so sad. It is such a nice case! A little costly too.
