Will this CPU and Ram work with this Motherboard?

Wondering if this would all work together. Trying to put together my own computer. Any advice would be helpful as well! The motherboard is an ASUS M5A97 and here is the link http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-M5A97-R2-0-SATA-Motherboard/dp/B008V9959O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3STKZPTFPE8SK&coliid=I2WAEM88TXABO3. The CPU is an AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core with the link http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD6300WMHKBOX-FX-6300-Processor-Edition/dp/tech-data/B009O7YORK/ref=de_a_smtd and the ram I would like to buy is Kingston Hyper X Blu 4 GB 1600MHz DDR3 with the link http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-1600MHz-Non-ECC-KHX1600C9D3B1-4G/dp/B0057Q4AGW/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. Also, here is the case I would like to buy. Either Rosewill Gaming ATX Mid Tower or GAMMA Classic Series ATX Mid Tower with the links http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Gaming-Tower-Computer-CHALLENGER-U3/dp/B005HJMQIS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3STKZPTFPE8SK&coliid=I2QC5JR4Y3NXON and http://www.amazon.com/GAMMA-Classic-Interior-Chassis-Black/dp/B002UDK9U6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3STKZPTFPE8SK&coliid=IBJNLB1FWX8NB. The processor will be dedicated to the chipset, so an FX 8350 will have "AM3+" in the description. Therefore it will run on AM3+ Chipset Motherboards.

Intel is a big more complicated, with intel its decided with chipset as well. For example H87, Z87 e.g. are all 1150 socket chipsets and any 1150 socket CPU will fit in any of the (X)87 chipset motherboard. Because only 1150 socket has the (x)87 chipsets,

Haha I know the cases are a little shitty...but I'm somewhat on a budget build here so trying to keep things a little cheap. But thank you!

No its because I dont know anything about cases :p You could look at reviews and see which has the best airflow. anyway good luck.

One more question. When finding what CPU is compatible with the MB are you just looking at the socket type and CPU type? Like it has to be AM3+ and an FX CPU type compatible motherboard? Or are there other rules to building your own computer?

Look for a motherboard that either supports 1150 if you want an Intel processor or an AM3+ if you want an AMD processor.
