I have a core 2 quad Q9650 3.0 GHz using a GTX 550 ti. I am thinking of upgrading my Graphics to GTX 660. Will my CPU bottleneck?

More about : bottleneck

Don't upgrade 550ti to 660 cuz they are practically the same. If you are going to upgrade, upgrade big but you would need a new rig to upgrade your Video Card. Sorry bro.

GTX 660 according to http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
is ranked 22nd in high end GPU, while the GTX550ti is 77th.Therefore GTX 660 is much better than GTX550ti for more than 100%

You are correct. I usually recommend 660 to others. It is way better because it has more shaders.

So if you are upgrading get a 7870 XT its very close to 7950

That's about $140
best bang for your buck

here is a regular 660 vs regular 7870

So expect to see something like this

@ DaClatso: No system is perfectly balanced but a GTX660 will be not only a good upgrade but not 'bottlenecked' enough to worry about.
