Last minute compatiblity/issue clearing

Hello fellow forum users, I am building a new PC around January-ish, and I have pretty much found all the parts I need/want, and was looking to again utilize the wisdom of the Tom's members. The PC I am building goes as follows in terms of components
CPU: Intel 4930k Ivy E
GPU: EVGA GTX 780 Classified Edition
Mobo: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
Memory: 2x8 sticks of Corsair Vengeance DDr3 Pro at 1866Mhz
Storage: Kingston Hyperx 3k 120Gb for Windows and other essential programs and WD Black 4TB HDD for mass storage.
Case: Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100I
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
PSU: Corsair RM1000
Glad for all the help I've recieved here and hopefully you guys would share your opinions/knowledge on this configuration.

Gaming mostly, I know 6 cores aren't used (yet) by games but I predict in the future (since the new consoles have 8 core CPUs) we will see multi-threaded workloads.

That CPU will be old and outdated before games can even use 50% of its power. Huge waste.

An i5 will max any game now and for many years to come.

You could back off a step or two on all of those, and save several hundred $$.

Yeah if you are not rendering a PIXAR movie, you don't need it. Better invest it in a 2nd 780. But even that is an overkill. Unless ur gaming in 4k.

I currently have a machine I use for gaming and I always hit at least 11Gb on daily usage, so 16Gb is anything but a waste, and I plan on SLI-ing my 780s in the future, so 1000W is actually pretty useful, might get Windows 7 Pro instead so I can run XP/Vista only games in XP mode.

850w is more than enough for SLI 780s.

What games do you run that use 11gb or RAM or do you run other applications. NO game should be using RAM like that.

I have 16 GB and the only time I've seen it pass 8GB is when I was Rendering a video.
Are u gaming in 1440p or higher?

I run multiple games in one day, I usually also run Chrome in the background with my games to listen to podcasts/music etc.

I run games and 30+ internet tabs and I have never used more than 5gb RAM.

Why are yo running multiple games at the same time? I find it hard to believe you are really using 11gb RAm just running a game with chrome open.

If you have money for it, please do get all that, it looks great. I would recommend 1440p 27+ inch monitor

But I have an I7-3770k and I do all of that too, Photoshop, Video, Chrome and Games open at the same time and my system does just fine.

I'm just saying, If I had that setup tho, I would be rendering Finding Nemo 2 in 3D maya tho.

I've already decided on getting a 144Hz ASUS VG248QE, to take advantage of my undoubtable high FPS in games, but I may consider a higher quality monitor for other tasks later down the road.
