Hi, i have purchased a seasonic 860 platinum power supply but for some odd reason the 24 pin connector for my motherboard will not click in, when i lift up the case; it falls off.

I searched on line; mine seems to be a 20+4 connector and i think i need a 24 pin connector.

(What the hell
First i have blood on my board, now the dam psu cord will not connect. why intel, why do i feel like the worst parts yet to come.)

Solution
Well if you have the clip on the motherboard and the clip on the 20+4pin then it should lock snuggly in place. If it isn't then I'd honestly just devise some simple method of securing it in place like a rubber band or zip tie or something of the sort

Any hows, should i rip it out.

I need the female connector :(

The female/20+4 pin connectors making it difficult, as theat little plastic part keeps sticking out.

Should i break it off? (Nail file it down)

I was asking about the part that you can see in the 20+4 adapter portion of that picture on top of all the pins. That clip is what keeps it on. Is that intact? I think you were talking about how the +4 can break away and be separate from the 20

Theres no clip on 4 pin, on the 20 pin connector yeah.

Wait, so theres suppose to be a clip on 4 pin connector too.
(I thought seasonic power supply's were the best)

I need nail filer, rubber bands so unorthodox for 200$ power supply.

Here's some pictures, is my power connector suppose to connect like that, well i can place it in, but force is needed but doing so makes it harder to retrieve as its soo hard to get out.

(My friends amd build power connector fts in snuggly but doesn't play nice either when coming out, least he's clicks mine doesn't)

Finding a 24 pin connectors ebays boring; and if its okay then kudo, just need a assesment.
