Do I have a virus / keylogger?

Hey guys, my credit card was recently compromised. I don't think I have a virus or anything, but I want to make sure that it isn't my computer that was compromised.

What's the best way to go about this and be sure my computer is safe? I am using windows 8 built in defender at the moment.

Thanks in advance for the advice

Odds are if your card was compromised online it was on the other end and a retailer was the target.

To be sure I would start by running a complete in depth virus scan and if you don't have it download Malwarebytes and do a complete scan with it as well.

do not add another antivirus program. defender is your built in av now and windows doesnt like two of them running at the same time.as was mentioned run a scan with your av as well as malwarebytes. post the logs from same. also run a program called security check from screen 317. http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/ .post the log as well. as well download and run a program called hijackthis. do not fix anything with hijackthis just yet.post the log only.these steps will determine what,if anything has infected your computer.

will say this once more,if you added another antivirus program, disable windows defender as the operating system doesnt like more than 1 antivirus program running at the same time.if you decide against this you will, down the road, have new problems to deal with.
