Hey guys, I'm getting a really awful noise from my pump in my cooling system. Sounds kinda like a fan with a wire between the blades. Is it low on coolant? It works perfectly until I moved the radiator a bit, but no wires were kinked, no fluid leaked, nothing. Please help.

Solution

I think it is low on coolant and you should refill it and see if the problem is fixed.

You might be running a dry pump, an air bubble could be stuck in there. If this is the case you're going to burn out your pump if you don't get the air out. Try turning off your computer and shaking/tilting it a bit and see if you can dislodge it.

I suppose it could be an air bubble. But it's certainly not dry, as it worked just fine for about an hour. I think I need to change the coolant out and refill it and everything. I didn't try to use the computer with the pump making these noises. For the time being, I don't have coolant just sitting around so in order to be able to use my computer I just reinstalled the stock heatsink.
