Testing PSU with power (kilo-watt) meter. Is 300 Watts accurate?

Shortly after building my new pc last year, it would randomly shut down while playing video games. At first it was just Firefall. Sometimes 5 minutes in, sometimes 90 minutes into my session. Chalked it up to the game itself. Then it did twice with Tera online. Now it does it with Marvel Heroes in different sections of the game.

I'm currently testing my system with a kilo-watt meter. Running Prime95 and Furhmark, maxing my gpu, cpu and ram, I am only pulling 300 Watts from the wall. Is this meter really accurate? While playing marvel heroes it was reporting 250 Watts only......

I still can't believe my system is only pulling 300Watts from the wall (surge protector). Is this accurate? is there any other testing I can do? Thanks.
