I am experiencing huge frame drops in BF4 and am just wondering if i need a new CPU to be able to run with out huge frame drops my specs are GTX 660, A10-5800k, 4gb ram

Solution
...that is a very strange computer. Less strange than what I first read, which was a gtx 680 and an A10, but still.

The AMD APUs are NOT competent processors. In order to get the onboard graphics (i.e. their selling point), the processing power gets gimped.

Battlefield is an extremely CPU-heavy game. Especially the multiplayer. It can tax a sandy bridge i5, or an FX 6100, quite hard - it doesn't surprise me at all that an A10 is flipping over and moaning at you.

You have a couple options. If your motherboard supports it, you could upgrade to an FX chip such as the FX 6350 or 8350.
The other option is buying a new motherboard and an intel I5 - if your budget supports it, I would recommend that route, as it's greater processing power...

would ECS A75F2-M2 support intel i5

Nope. AMD and Intel use totallly different sockets.

Now. That's a pretty budget motherboard, and like I thought, doesn't have very good power circuitry - it'll work with any processor up to a 100w TDP. That means the FX 8350 is out, but you can buy an FX 6300, plunk it in there, and have a nice performance bump.

thx. will there be a bottle neck effect? And will the CPU increase the performance allowing me to run on medium/high

There already is a huge bottleneck because your CPU isn't fast enough. The much more powerful processor should help a lot - it would help more if you could overclock it, but your motherboard won't support that very well.

You might be able to do that, yeah, but honestly, I would be surprised if you weren't able to run on medium/high right now, at about the same framerate with the same problems. The framedrops and minimum framerates are coming from your CPU - the graphics card affects maximum framerate and what details you can play on.

And if i was going to get a mobo any good suggestion for good budget one

A motherboard for an intel i5, or for an amd chip so you could overclock the 6300?

Bear in mind that because the motherboard holds everything together, going as cheap as you possibly can (like the $60 one that's in there right now) isn't the best idea, because it means fewer features and less reliability.
