These are the temps that shows in Real Temp / Speed Fan / HW Monitor at the Same time

These are Idle Temperatures

These are the temps when in 100% usage

What I've already tried :

  • Cleaning Cabinet / Heat-Sink
    Re-seating Heat-Sink
    Reapplying Thermal Compound
    Added more Fans
    Even tried Opening Case

I could really use some help right now . So how can i get this solved. ?

Could it be faulty temperature sensors . ? How can i make sure it's the Sensors are alright.?

How much Temperature can a Q6600 Withstand.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

170 is about the limit for most CPUs, get a cheap aftermarket cooler for now, it seems like yours is just faulty. It could be bad temps, the best way is with an infrared thermometer, if you don't have one, just touch it with your finger (keep your foot or other hand on a metal lamp or something).

Well in fact i already thought about the idea of touching the heat sink while the system is powered up , But i thought i should inquire about the issue first before getting electrocuted.

I touched the heat sink while the monitoring software showed 90+ temperatures and the heat sink felt a tiny tiny bit warm.

Well is there any other ways to make sure that my temperature sensors have gone Bananas.

I think that your cooler probably is not seated well... I had E6600 (which is just the same CPU with same motherboards and sockets, only dual core) and trust me - the cooler MAY look like it sits ok, but in fact it does not - easy way to check is just to try and apply moderate force and attempt to pull it out, it should not budge if it sits well.

Also from my experience - E6600 could handle around 60c top - at 60c it either was shutting down or weird shit would start going on. I guess Q6600 would be the same since it's the same architecture and chip, just 2 more cores.

I remember at the last half a year of it's life I overclocked E6600 to 3.2 Ghz, removed the side panel and just put a big room fan on top of it.
