Trying to transfer World of Warcraft from Windows 7 laptop to Windows 8 desktop

As the title explains, I am attempting to share my World of Warcraft file somehow from my Windows 7 laptop to my new Windows 8 desktop (Windows 8.1 if it matters).

I've tried several things online and none of it worked for me. I attempted to make a homegroup after seeing people say that Win7 and Win8 can be in the same homegroup, but it wouldn't comply and also specifically said "Users must be operating Windows 7 to access this homegroup".

I've also shared the WoW folder and I was able to see it on my desktop, but it originally was giving me an error message saying I did not have permission to access it (even though under advance sharing I gave "everyone" full privelage). Then, without tinkering, it let me in and I am copying the folder to my desktop, however, the copy is taking just as long as normally downloading it would. Is there a faster, more efficient method of doing this?

Thanks for the help

Can I suggest a little more effort but allot less hassle? Just copy paste the game onto an external Hard drive, now plug that Hard drive into your win 8 pc - problem solved...

If you use an external HDD with USB 3.0 and have more than 4GB of RAM it shouldn't take that long really.
