  1. What monitor do you have and are you using an HDMI cable?
Also Check to see that you are running the games at the native resolution of the monitor.

So its a monitor that you connect to the laptop and not the laptops monitor itself?
  4. no no .. its the laptop monitor itself ...

Ok what laptop do you have and Have you downloaded the latest graphics drivers?

The black space on the sides is usually an Aspec ratio setting or the resolution of the game being lower than the native resolution of the monitor.

If you can give me the make and model of the laptop I can check for you
  6. ya i downloaded the latest drives.. (i hope its the latest :P)
and the games once opened perfectly in the same laptop with win 7..

and i think my os is having some probs... its not able to auto detect and update the required drivers .. i'm gonna format my lap and instal a new os this week.. may be that'll help .. thanks for ur help frnd :)

and one more thing ... my usb gamepad and mouse is not recognised by the system ... any ideas.. ?? tried all drivers and softwares..
and the device works well in other pc..
  11. That's odd. I would recommend going back to windows 7 then.
  12. ya .. actually i did install a win 7 on one of my hard disk... but that os itself had llots and lots of probs... it would accept any drivers...
so i'm gonna install a new and fine win 7 os this week ..
    u think that'll solve all the probs ... ??
  13. I hope so. You have to keep in mind that usually laptops are designed for a specific Operating System. Best way is to install windows 7 again and see what happens.
