Hello, I use my PC for gaming, social networking, Skype calls, and school work. If Windows 8.1 and Windows Home Premium were the same price, which one would suit me more? I heard using windows 8.1 boosts game performance but i don't know if that's true or not? I have grown up around Windows 98, XP, Vista and 7 so would i feel uncomfortable using 8 in anyway? Thank you for reading, any feedback will be very helpful and will be appreciated highly ;3

It's almost the same as Windows 7 but slightly better. It's faster (boot up times are SO MUCH faster)
Charms bar is very useful too.

Some people hate on it just because everyone else does, even though they haven't tried it yet.

Plus, you can have Windows 8.1 for free.

If you really want the start menu from previous Windows, you can download Start Is Back for free, it removes the Windows 8 Start screen and replaces it with a Windows 7 start menu.

Windows 8 is faster on SOME games but not by much, around 3 fps more with Windows 8 because it uses less memory.

Windows 8.1 is free if you have a legit copy of Windows 8 already.

yah. i agree. i have a gaming pc running windows 8.1. and i think the charms bar is really usefull. it boots up in 6 secounds without fast boot enabled. some say that they cant play games on it, but thats a complete lie. i have alot of steam games and i can run them no problem. the startscreen is well not the same from the windows 7 start menu. but its atleast good. why not wasting all your time looking for something fun on the browser when you can just download alot of fun apps on the store? so yeah. i also recommend windows 8.1
