sometimes when i play games like guild wars 2 i can play for hours or just minutes before my screen goes black and a buzzing comes through my headset and i can also hear fans increasing in speed. The only way i can restart it then is by cutting the power from the mains. All my drivers are up to date and i have no idea what to do.

can anyone help with this?

Ram : 2x 4gb
gpu : gtx 660
cpu : i5 3570k
psu : : 650w

Solution
That's normally either a overclock/clock/mem speed problem, as well as a power problem. Just first reset you video card to the default settings, then relaunch your game play it and see if it still happens, if you are already running at a stock speed try decreasing the gpu clock speed and the mem clock speed by increments of 30-50 until you hit about the 15% mark. Also download msi afterburner to monitor your temps and see if they get above 80c. the last thing it could be is your power supply starting to fail, which could always lead to many problems. You could order a replacement and try it out to see if it fixes it, if not just send it back and rma your video card.

hi thanks for responding i will try decreasing my clock and mem speeds and get back to you, and i dont think its a temp prob as i have already measured them and my cpu gets to about 50 and my gpu about 60
