Like all computers over time they become clogged up.

It`s not just you it happens to a lot of people.

What happens is over time people end up collecting loads of programs they never use.
Examples are multiple browser plugins with search bars like Bing, Yahoo ect.

Instant messagers ;ike Yahoo chat, skype, Msn chat.

All of these programs have a nasty habit of placing them self in the start up sequence of windows.

Once windows has loaded it begins to load all of the other programs listed in the start up list.
Each program takes a chunk of system memory.

Till you get to a point where windows it`s self has very little to work with.

Once windows starts to run out of memory it uses what is called a swap file. Where it dumps data in the memory back to the hard drive.
To change data in the memory.

So what to do?

Well it`s a question of stopping all of thoes programs from running after windows has loaded from the start up list. So you can reserve more memory for windows.

Click on start.
In the search box type : Msconfig.

A window will open, click on the tab that says start up.

In there is a list of things that auto run after windows has loaded.
Each one that is ticked eg: skype will take up a chunk of system memory.

Simply un tick these click apply.
Restart and see if the system works faster.
