7870 xfire 1440p

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 1440p monitor and im looking to upgrade my GPU, i have a Gigabyte 7870 OC. I was looking at upgrading to a 7970. But i am trying to save as much money as i can as i have other upgrades planned so my question is would 2 x 7870 in xfire be good to handle the resolution on high or ultra settings on games? and do i have to get an identical gigabyte card, or any overclocked 7870 for xfire?

excellent, that suits me, would this be stable? because a lot of people are telling me that xfiring the two cards will cause problems in-game.

also, i have a ocz corextreme 500W PSU. Will this be ok for the xfire? or shall I upgrade that for a higher rated one?

my rig is i5 3570k
8gb ram
7870
128 gb ssd
1tb wd caviar black
crappy optical drive
asrock extreme 4
