Im planning on buying a portable harddrive (1TB) - (http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/data-storage/hard-drives/portable-external-hard-drives/wd-my-passport-portable-hard-drive-1tb-black-14553716-pdt.html) and want to know if when i format it to a mac and copy all my music and movies - will my PC be able to read the data. the PC wont be adding to the harddrive, just reading from it. Is this possible?

Solution
Don't format it with Mac is the easy answer. Windows cant easily read hsf+ (the mac format) and Mac can read NTFS but not write to it.

Formatting the external drive as Fat32 or Exfat will allow both systems to read and write to the drive with no other software needing to be installed.
fat32 limits you to a 4gb max file size.

Ive been seeing that on other forums - the 4GB file size - does that relate to each seperate file or a folder. I ask as ive got 90GB+ of music and dont really wanna copy them in 4GB slots.
