Hello everyone, so I need a new HDD. I can't afford an SSD, and have a $100 budget. I can get a 3TB Seagate Barracuda on sale right now for $99, or a WD Black 1TB for $89, or a Toshiba 1TB HDKPC03 DT01ACA100 which after rebate is only $40. Right now I believe I can ignore the Toshiba since it has a lot of bad reviews and is really hit or miss. I want the Barracuda, and will probably get the 1TB so I have more money to spend on other parts, but I'm worried about how long it will last, as it seems WD drives have a much lower fail rate I read somewhere WD fail rate was 5%, and Seagate was 40%. So which would you recommend and why? (I'll be using the drive for gaming so performance is also a big factor)
