Computer rattling/clicking noise

I have had a problem with my computer making a rattling/clicking sound. I don't know what the problem is and everytime I tried to locate noise (my computer sits on a corner and I have to take it to the living room to look inside and stuff) the noise is gone.

I don't have the problem everytime maybe two to three times a week.

This morning I just had the rattling noise again. This time I opened up the computer on the corner so that I could look at what is making the noise. I looked for loose wires that might be hitting the fans but there weren't any. I recently cleaned the inside of the computer so I don't think it is a dust problem. (Before cleaning the computer two weeks ago I was already having the problem)

Now, when I push/put pressure at the back of the case by the fan, the rattling/clicking gets quieter and when I let go of the pressure the sound gets louder again. So I suspect it is the rear fan. I put my finger on the middle of the fan to slow it down the clicking stops and when I let go the sound gets louder I again. I did this again twice with the same result but at my last try the clicking/rattling stopped. Now it is quiet again.

I want to know if it is a bad computer fan case and if I should replace it.

My case by the way is Fractal Design R3 and it is the stock rear fan that I am talking about.

If it`s 3-4 years old it`s the fan bearing - replace

Probably bearings. When you push on the hub, that changes the load on the bearings and can quiet them for a bit. Something like that doesn't get any better, though.

The good thing is that replacing a fan is cheap and easy.
