Hi guys,

I have a HP with a i7 2600, and I need upgrade my motherboard because I want add a new HDD SATA 6.0 Seagate ST1000DX001 Hybrid Solid State. Old motherboard don't support SATA 6.0, support a maximum of 8GB RAM, the original HDD is 5400 rpm SATA 3.0, is sloooooooooowwwwwwwww. SO, I'm stuck with this motherboard.

So, I find for $76 this two motherboards with lots of features, included PCIe 3.0.

Between this two motherboards only, the Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 and the ASRock Z75 Pro3 . Which one you recommend me....?

The difference I see is:

* Asus is Z68 and have 2 PCIe 3.0

* AsRock is Z75

May be you find something more.... I'm not find info about the (FSB) Front Side Bus Speed for example...?

Both have 4 memory slots, what I need for future upgrade and use my existing RAM. Also, PCIe, and 3rd GEN processor, so maybe in the future I upgrade the processor and add another video card, or any other PCIe 3.0 card, who knows? Crossfirex (ATI GPU), etc

After lot of reading, I choose this two motherboards to compare. So please, give me your fedback between this two options, take care of the brand and features, but please don't give more options, I'm tired of reading .

Thanks for the advice.
Walt

Wrong, I can reactivate my Windows 7 license by phone with the new board. And discard the old Motherboard.

My HDD works fine, But is Extremely Slooooooow, is 5400 RPM, I have a laptop Core 2 duo with a 7200 HDD RPM and is faster.

Between the Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 and the ASRock Z75 Pro3 , Which one you recommend me....?

Thanks

I am talking about the new HDD not the old the std SATA 6GB is fully backwards compatible with SATA 3GB so the new drive will work fine and at full speed!
Reactivating by phone works if they let you, they often do but it is still a breach of the OEM software license!
On the boards I do not think they will fit your case since most likely you need mATX board being a HP.
