Hi so im really into gaming but my pc is not the best for games i like to play, so i was wondering should i upgrade or just get a new one

My current pc: CASE NZXT| GAMA-001BK RT
PSU ROSEWILL|RD500-2DB 500W RT
CPU AMD|ATH II X3 450 3.2G AM3 R
MEM 8G|GSKILL F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL R
HDD 1T|WD
MB ASUS|M5A97 R2.0 970 AM3+ R
VGA XFX|HD-667X-ZWF4 HD6670 1G D5 R
games i want to play are bf4,planet side 2,and everynow and then i play crisis 3. ps im ok with not being able to run every game on max settings but i would like to be able to run them on high settings and just to tell you i dont know very much about computers.

Solution

The FX6300 will slightly bottleneck the 280x, if you OC it a bit then not bad. If you can afford it I would definitely pair an FX8350 with the R9 280x, you will be the coolest cat on the block.

I live in canada so im guessing newegg.ca would be best but if im wrong please tell me a better site my buget is around 650$-700$ range for new pc if i upgrade it depends on what parts i will upgrade and no i wont build it myself i will get my friend who builds computers for people all the time

Your ram and MB aren't bad, I have the same MB and just got a 8320 from Canada Computers for $170 or something and that would plop right in that board. or a 8350 for $200. Video card you could go 270x for about 230, decent PSU upgrade for 70, about $500 there plus whatever your tax is. That would boost you up. Add in a cooler, and maybe another 8GB of ram if you can find matching RAM and be about $700 and a decent upgrade. That's roughly the system I just built, 8320, 7970 OC Video card (same as the 270x but was on sale), 16GB, Seidon Liquid cooler, but I need everything and spent $1300 and can do BF3 on Ultra 60FPS.

7970 OC is the equivalent of an R9 280x not 270x.

I would just spend the extra 20-30 bucks for the FX8350. It is already clocked up to 4.2.

Sorry to bother you again but do you think it would be better to get a asus r9 280x and get a 6 core am3+ prossesor instead of r9 270x and 8 core prossesor?
