I got a 1080p HP monitor today. I currently have a 720p laptop (don't judge me yet, I'm building a PC this weekend lol). I wanted to test the 1080p on the monitor, so I hooked up the HDMI to the laptop. The problem is: When I change the res settings, the 1080p option is greyed out. the only option is the laptop's resolution. Is there any way to bypass the laptop's resolution and tell it to go 1080p on the monitor? thx
