GTX780 PSU question

I recently bought a GTX780 and a Corsair CX750M to go with it. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to installing new things into my computer, but I went ahead and did it myself. The question is, does it matter where I run the cable to my GPU from? The PSU is modular, with only the Motherboard connector and one listed as "CPU". Can I simply use one of the 8 slot connects in the PSU that are open and run it to the GPU using the 2x 6 slots to power it? I just want to make sure there isn't a specific place for the "12v rail" required by the card.

Thanks!

Which 780 did you get? I have this PSU. I thought it had the ports listed where you plug them in..? You should be able to use one of the 8 pin connects and one of the PCI-E cables that came with the PSU. My 780 required 2 8-pins so I used 2x 6+2 on the PCI-E cable.

I have the EVGA ACX Cooler 03G-P4-2784-KR. I guess my real question is, right now I have the card plugged up to a single cord form the PSU (which is in the 8 pin slot) and I'm using two 6 pin and a 2 pin from the same cord. Is this wrong?
