Let me begin by apologizing if cpu is the wrong category. Ok so my PC was cleaned with DBAN. So what next. The monitor doesn't get the signal with the vga cable for some reason. The computer has a graphics card inside with 2 DVI connections that stick out the back of the PC. One of these picks up a signal with the DVI cable but its just a bunch of random color squares. I would think you need to install something for dvi to even work. Any help will be much appreciated.

Well now you install your operating system, drivers, software, etc. What exactly is the question?

Okay so I am clear on this, the computer worked fine. You "cleaned" the hard drive, and now you get a blank screen when you turn it on (no signal is the same thing"? You didn't do anything else at all, not unplug anything, not change any cords....just that?

yea all I unplugged was the mouse, speakers, and internet. Also I have to let u know that while dban was running someone disconnected the power cord. Whether DBAN finished or not I'll never know. What I do know that around the time it ws unplugged it had to be close to done or completely done. Do you think this messed up my computer?

Well it is possible that something got messed up when that happened yes.
First, we need the specs of the computer, at the very least MB, CPU, GPU.
You should get *something* on the screen though if it is physically not damaged. Does it actually turn on? do you hear the fans? If so, try plugging monitor into onboard video if you have it, and see if anything comes on the screen.

Yea it turns on just fine. By onboard video do you mean the graphics card? If so it has 2 vdi connections and yes one of them gets a signal but its just a bunch of white and pink squares. Also I assume MB means motherboard?

theres a big board full of chips circuits I think that's the motherboard. The graphics card attaches to this thing. If thios is the motherboard then I believe the brand is ASUS. There is a fan that says AMD attached to it so it might be AMD instead. I would go with ASUS however. Also I know the graphics card model exactly, it's NVIDIA Geforce 9800 GT, it has an archer girl sticker on it.
