Hi, so I just finished building my pc and I have a 120gb ssd installed along with a 1tb hdd. I used the windows easy transfer and it put my user on my ssd, immediately filling it up with documents, music and videos. I tried moving the user folder to my hdd but i keep on getting the error that my parameter is incorrect. Im not sure what to do and I need to free up my hard drive. Thanks

First of all, you should have checked the C-drive space used BEFORE starting all this. If it exceeded the SSD capacity you would have problems.

I don't recommend you try linking the SSD to the HDD. That's complicated and can cause problems.

What you need to do, is perhaps restart the procedure and MANUALLY move over files, keeping track of your SSD capacity.

Other:
You can free up some space by:
1)a) Disabling Hibernation, and
b) Set PAGEFILE to a max and min of 2GB

2) You should also be OVERPROVISIONING the SSD which eats up even more space (about 89GB would be usable). You can read about that too.

SO:

1) Reinstall Windows to the SSD
2) Disable Hibernation, and set Pagefile size
3) Overprovision (if Samsung, then Samsung Magician can do this)
4) Drivers, Microsoft updates etc.
5) Move data MANUALLY

*You should NOT exceed 80% of the space left after overprovisioning as future updates, Restore Points etc can eatup this space. So you need to sit back and plan your strategy a little better this time. Much of the files you have might be best put into a folder on the HARD DRIVE (videos, pictures, games..)
