shutdown when using 3 and 4 cores

My computer shuts down, when i set to 4 core. if i set it to 3 core it's take abit longer to shut down.... only thing working is 2 core, do any1 know what might be the problem?? cpu: Amd Phenom(TM) IIx4 965 processor. ghrafic card: AMD radeon HD6970 2gb ram.: Power: crossair 850tx and got 4gb ram. motherboard: think it is a M4A87TD Series( i'm in that believe it something with the power output, but i'm not very good at theese things. hope some1 can help me. thank you for trying:)

sounds like an overheating issue. you should try taking off the heatsink and cleaning off the thermal paste, reapplying it (don't put too much though) and reseat the heatsink.

I've had the same problem before in the past and doing this fixed the problem nicely.
