Hi, a few months ago I bought my self a 1tb Samsung evo ssd and pretty much just after I had to get a replacement motherboard so it seems when the technicians plugged every thing back in they plugged my Samsung ssd into the asmedia sata port on the rampage iv extreme, I didn't think anything of it at the time but as of far I haven't really been all that impressed with the ssd and I think the asmedia ports are to blame apparently they don't work as fast as the proper sata 6gb/s and from what I see they don't. When running the Samsung magician software benchmark for example my sequential write is only 373mbs when its supposed to be closer to 500mbs.

So anyway what Im trying to do now is plug it in to the standard sata 6gb/s port and that's when I get the blue screen 0x0000007b cannot boot error.
I have tried a few things that I know of that can get rid of that but none of them have worked.

If anyone has experience with this problem or knows something I could try or has an opinion I would like to hear from them.

os window 64-bit

thanks

Go into Bios and change Sata "IDE" to "AHCI" then it should work.

That wouldn't work as the ASmedia port does not use the Intel or MS drivers.

They would have needed to change the driver being used to the corect one, power off and move the drive to the proper port, and then boot into the bios and insure the new port is in AHCI mode, and then boot into windows.

Rapid mode has some effect on the lifespan of the SSD but not enough to be worried about.
