I have a lenovo ideapad s400 touch and after I updated to windows 8.1 my fan is at full speed a lot, even when there's nothing running. Temperature is only at 40 C max and laptop is never hot enough for fan to be at full speed. I checked the bios and I saw nothing for fan control on there and I even changed the cooling policy to passive.
